38 Electra Heart Yarnstorm - 5th May 2012

Hey Guys!

Recently I have became obsessed with Marina & The Diamonds and her new album "Electra Heart" is an awesome body of work!

I really wanted to do something to promote the album, like I did this time last year in project 8 for Simon Curtis!

So I decided to knit 16 hearts - 1 for each track on the album! I made 8 black hearts, marking the signature heart on Electra's cheek. I then made 8 hearts in a Bubblegum (Bitch!) Pink colour to reflect the albums imagery/colourscape for the promotion!

To finish the campaign off and make a bigger statement. I took reference from the song "Teen Idle" that opens with "I wanna be a bottle blonde..." and made an Electra-esque Bottle Blonde hairpiece and hairband. I then finished this off with a Bubblegum Bubble referencing opening track "Bubblegum Bitch" and put both pieces on a statue near the heart yarnstorm.

I hope you all like! The support from Marina & The Diamonds fanpages/accounts has been outstanding!

Let's get "Electra Heart" to number 1! An amazingly crafted album of dark lyrics over sugary pop beats, dark moments, happy moments, love, heartbreak- Marina has a way with words and the voice to carry them off! Please do check it out!

17 Teenage Dream 13th July 2011

Hey Shadows,

This was just for a wee bit of fun as I am obsessed with Katy Perry at the moment!!! Perhaps a Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) inspired yarnbomb is needed? What do you think?

Anyway, here is my (peacock) blue ipod playing Katy Perry Teenage Dream! I hope you enjoy it as much as the friendly squirrels did early this morning! :)

08 Simon Curtis 8bit heart yarnstorm London 14th May 2011

Hey Guys!!! It's finally here!!! After weeks and weeks of planning, i'm very proud to present: 8bit heart yarnstorm!

This project was intended to promote Simon Curtis' album 8bit heart (which you can download for free at http://www.simon-curtis.com/) and was installed at the venue for his debut London gig on May 14th.

Simon himself loved the yarn hearts and he also loved his special present!

Also performing at the gig were Ro Danishei and Andrea Lewis. I made little presents for them too to promote their albums both of which are free on their websites. (Ro Danishei - End of the Rainbow [ http://www.rodanishei.com/ ] & Andrea Lewis - 5,4,3,2,1. [ http://www.thosegirlsarewild.com/ ] )

A present was also made for Raj at Electroqueer who arranged the gig! ( http://www.eqmusicblog.com/ )
